Good Start Method objectives:
We are a kindergarten cooperating with the Centre of Giftedness and Mensa of the Czech Republic. The title “kindergarten cooperating with Mensa” has been awarded to us because we more than fulfil national requirements of focusing on work with gifted children.
In our “Mensa NTC Learning Club” we use board games recommended for particular areas of intellectual powers. In Mensa NTC Learning Club we use materials recommended by the Centre of Giftedness and Mensa (car symbols, Pexeso, flags, traffic signs), also board games from MINDOK and Albi Brainbox.
Zumba contains elements of styles such as hip hop and reggaeton. It helps children to learn basic concepts of coordination, discipline, self-confidence and team work while they enjoy themselves in the rhythm of Latin-American tunes.
Yoga means a suitable manner of movement for children. Starting yoga at an early age, children get the best motion base for their lives. We start with play that is close to children: we imitate animals, flowers and things surrounding us. We try to think how to capture them in motion; we work with fingers, vocal cords, eyes, mind, concentration and precision.
Another important opportunity yoga brings is to teach children how to breathe properly. Yoga tradition has the means to teach children protracted exhalation and quiet breathing though the nose as well as to influence the tension during asthma and to strengthen overall breathing capacity.
Children learn to ride ponies and the right posture. They will ride ponies through the whole Stromovka Park.
The programme is designed to teach children basics of golf in a playful way. Children learn good posture and basic golf technique.
The main objective of the sports club is an overall development of motion skills, coordination, learning to breathe properly and acquiring basics of the tennis technique.
The recorder belongs among woodwind musical instruments and it develops children´s feeling of rhythm. Through recorder playing children also learn to breathe properly. Last but not least is the positive effect it brings to children suffering from asthma or various allergies.
This takes place on an individual basis with a professional speech therapist.
It consists of breathing, phonation and articulation exercises. It develops cognitive skills, practises fine motor skills and graphomotorics, motion activities, hearing games, word rhyming, playing with rhythms and so on.
